Holy Rosary
PITH Press

This small "SPECIAL EDITION" is dedicated to OUR LADY. For me SHE has been the source of inspiration in my Christian journey, and the ONE who has always pointed me to her DIVINE SON.

When I was a teenager, Marian devotion and talk of OUR LADY was kind of suppressed—nothing official, mind you; but the "prevailing wind" was to not upset those who, not of our faith, would have a difficult time understanding who Mary is to us. What a MASSIVE MISTAKE! We have nothing to hide, nor fear, or feel embarrassed about. OUR LADY is the Mother of Jesus Christ, the SECOND PERSON OF THE BLESSED TRINITY, and therefore, Mother of God.

The ROSARY for us is a distinctly Marian prayer... and a BIBLICAL PRAYER as well. Every one of the fifteen decades of the Holy ROSARY is based on sound scriptural teachings and reflects the very core message of the Gospel.

Meditating upon the mysteries of the Most Holy ROSARY makes us meditate on Jesus Christ Himself, and thus we do as Mary always wanted... "Do whatever he tells you." (Jn. 2:5)

Tthe VICTORY of her beloved SON is Mary's victory as well, the fruits of true fidelity.

But she is also the Mother of Sorrows, having gone through the pain and agony of the Passion, as only a mother could suffer witnessing her SON’s burden and death. She is also witness to the Resurrection and the glorious recipient of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost with the other Disciples.

Mother Mary is the premiere Disciple: for her fidelity to her Father in saying YES! to the angel; for her faithfulness to the ministry and care of her Son as he preached and cured; for her fidelity to her Son in His passion and death; and for her fidelity to her Son in the ministry to the entire Church through the evangelists: "His mother meanwhile kept all these things in memory." (Lk. 2:51)

My prayer to our BLESSED LORD through Mary, His Mother, is that the world may be united through her motherly care and concern, through her example of purity and fidelity to her Son; and that all the animosity that has grown out of petty religious infighting may be erased though increased appreciation for her role in salvation history.

Saint Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ—Our LORD and God—had a great part to play... I dare say greater than any other creature, and yet, you and I are invited to do the same...

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. AMEN.
